Happy Easter

The boys were so cute this year finding their Easter baskets.

Bunkbeds

Garren couldn't be more excited that his bunkbeds are finally finished. Daddy, with Garren's assistance, installed the top rails and reinforced the ladder (and almost every rail) for an extra sturdy and safe bunkbed. He can't wait to spend his first night on the top bunk.

PJ's

Today, I showed Calvin that he should put his PJ's under his pillow for the next night. After a few moments alone, he came running for me to come look. He took my advice to heart and put the entire contents of his PJ drawer under his pillow!

Little Helper

Calvin loves spending time outside. He was helping me dig out some weeds around the patio. My favorite part was when he told me that he had found a "piece of worm." He says that about almost everything. "Piece of glasses","piece of shirt", you get the idea. Calvin, can you just stay three forever?!

Extreme Couponing

Ok, so have you ever watched "Extreme Couponing" on TLC? It may come as no surprise to you then that I've decided to dabble in this money-saving hobby. Below are a FEW of the free/almost free items I've aquired recently. I do almost all of my couponing at CVS and Rite Aid (because Keyser lacks a variety of grocery stores).

Fishing Derby

Garren recently participated in Keyser's Fishing Derby. Despite cold temperatures and catching nothing, Garren claims to have had a great time. Both sets of grandparents were in attendance to cheer him on and we celebrated his great sportsmanship with hot chocolate and pancakes from Denny's afterward.

More House Pics

Here are the promised pics of the family room. Some improvements we've done in there--painted walls, crown molding, new ceiling fans, new carpet, painted molding/trim white, not to mention no more knotty pine! The room wouldn't be complete without my "new" furniture from my fabulous (and generous) friend, Lindsay. I'm still working on the grouping on the far wall. I have an idea for some different wall art (will post pic of that when I'm done). I love each of those pieces individually but it's just not working for me as a group. Suggestions? (Oh, and Les, I bought my huge clock for only 15 bucks. I hope you like it. It's even functional.)

Strawberries

No, Cindy, I'm not copying you. I took these pics before I talked to you on the phone. ;) We got some huge strawberries at our roadside fruit stand (ahem, Wal-Mart) yesterday and the boys love eating them. Don't brag, Cindy. I'm sure your strawberries were far superior in taste and size!

House Pics

I've been promising house pics for a while now and I've finally gotten around to posting them.

The living room isn't totally finished yet. The last major project we have will be taking down the drop ceiling. I still need to get a coffee table, the gold chairs will eventually be recovered in leather, and fireplace insert will be sprayed black

The dining room is essentially finished. Chris will add some molding to the at the top of the walls. You can see that the knotty pine and green carpet are no more. Pics of that room will have to wait until the crown molding is finished and I get my "new" furniture.
I would love any decor ideas you may have to improve the spaces.

Happy Birthday, Chris!

Chris hit the big 3-5!! I tease him that he is offically middle-aged. We celebrated with family and friends and had two desserts--apple crisp and peach kuchen.
