Sunny CA

Garren and I had so much fun visiting Cindy and family in California. Thanks to Grandma and Grandpa for the plane tickets! We had many highlights including Allyson's baptism, cherry picking, the beach, San Diego, and just spending time together. Thanks to Cindy for planning an unforgettable trip!

In the freezing water of the Pacific.

Searching for crabs and shells.

The picture doesn't show that it was a bit cold that day.

Allyson's baptism.

Look delish, don't they? They were!

Couldn't resist taking a pic of a truck full of lemons.

Audrey at the fish hatchery.

Feeding the trout.

A seal at the tidal pools in San Diego.

Panning for gold at the Mormon Battalion Museum.

Mormon Battalion statue.

Old Town, San Diego

Waiting for the airplane.

The Bounce House (yes, that's me bringing up the rear).

Bounce House

I hosted a small playgroup at my house yesterday. Jenn, the mom of twins, brought her black friday "steal." It barely fit in our TV room but the kids had such a blast (How could they not?)!

Dam Site 14

We recently took a little family outing to Dam Site 14 in New Creek. The mountainside was just turning green and Chris was excited to scout out a new fishing spot.

Ox Roast

For those of you who aren't in the know, the Fortney family faithfully attends a boy scout fundraiser, The Ox Roast, twice a year (No, they don't serve ox). My grandfather (94) is a long-time leader and still camps with the scouts! Here we all are at our usual table.

Dancing

Garren loves to get groovy in the kitchen!

Good Eats?

When I asked Garren what kind of sandwich he wanted for lunch he replied, "Peanut butter and honey and bologna!". I put the piece of bologna on the top thinking that he could easily remove it after the first disgusting bite. To my surprise, he ate the entire sandwich and has even requested it several days since then. I guess he takes after Grandpa Fortney!

Happy Easter!

Breaking the egg pinata (as if they needed more candy!)

Searching for the Easter Bunny's baskets.

We decided to have the Easter Bunny come on Monday for FHE. We think that Sunday should be dedicated to focusing on the Savior's life and resurrection, the true meaning of Easter.........Ok, you got me. The real reason is we wanted to get 50% off all the Easter candy (but you believed me, didn't you?). We've received praise for this decision from the Fortney side and ridicule from the Keckley side of our families (go figure). Anyway, we're glad we've started this tradition.

Hush, Little Baby

In my opinion, there is nothing cuter than a sleeping baby (they will always be my babies, no matter what age they are). I had to laugh when I checked on them during nap time and they were both all wrapped up.

St. Patrick's Day

Our green St. Patrick's Day meal

Garren was really excited about the green mac and cheese!

Calvin also enjoyed the festive dinner.

I'll have to preface the video to explain that Garren and I talked about Leprechauns and how mischievous and sneaky they can be. He had just come out of his room from a nap when I began taping. He wasn't as excited as I thought he would be (perhaps I shouldn't blamed him at first).
