The Blizzard of 09

Guess it's finally time to put the table/chairs away.

Yes, that's our car.

Calvin was a little unsure about the sled ride (he warmed up to it and they had a blast in the snow).

We got a whopping 23 inches! The only thing that would've made this any better would be if it had happened on a weekday. No mind though, I'll take this anytime!

Christmas Craft

We had no church this morning due to ice so I thought we'd make some festive use of the free time. We made the Christmas countdown links and a ripped contruction paper Christmas tree. Calvin destroyed his Christmas tree but he still wanted his picture taken so he held up a blank piece of paper instead.

To Bethany

Relaxing with TV

Garren and Calvin love for Chris to make them little beds to watch TV in. He made them out of a tote and a laundry basket with blankets and pillows (and of course the stuffed monkeys).

Oh Deer!

I had my fingers secretly crossed that Chris wouldn't get a deer. Venison, anyone?

Playing in the Snow

Garren was devastated that, due to a cold and cough, he wouldn't be allowed to go outside and play in our first good snow of the year. I decided to bring the outdoors in and filled the sink with snow. They had a great time and I'm happy that they were able to enjoy the snow without going outside.

Before and After

Happy Thanksgiving!

I made my first pumpkin pie (you know, with a real pumpkin). The taste was so similar to the ones we made with Libby's canned pumpkin that I won't be going to all that trouble again.

Checking out the sales for the next day's shopping excursion.

Day-after Thanksgiving snow. Garren, Scott, Emily, Rachel, and Bethany (MIA for the pic) made this snowman.

Mom making the gravy.

I made the centerpieces (I admit I had a little too much fun with the gold spraypaint)
